It seems that social media is emerging as one of the most effective marketing channels for mortgage and finance brokers today. There’s been lots of interest in our Spring Selling Campaign social media resources – it looks like many of you are trying it for the first time in your marketing mix and discovering that social media is a fantastic way to expand reach, engage with customers and generate more referral business.
There are multiple ways you can use social media to promote your business and professional services. Many of our Connective Excellence Award Best Marketing entrants this year employed social media in some way to increase the effectiveness of their marketing initiatives. So, we thought we’d share a few successful and creative social media executions from some of our winners, to give you inspiration.
Fox Mortgage Services
Fox Mortgage Services in WA have used social media very effectively to build brand awareness and launch their new office. Posts included engaging graphics and fun videos to highlight their services, however their main objective was to build brand recognition in their local community and generate a steady flow of followers.
“Our focus over the last year has been to build brand recognition, increase our social media following and our database for direct marketing purposes. We used broad social media campaigns on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to support monthly leaflet drops and help us achieve our objective to create a more fun, softer image for the business.”

Soul Finance Group – WA
Kirsten Nazzari at Soul Finance regularly uses social media to support email and information marketing campaigns. Two social media tactics she used last year included a referral incentive offer and a customer survey, both of which proved highly engaging.
“I consistently reach out to my clients by checking in with them through my social media channels. I also ran a campaign in the form of a survey on social, asking my audience ‘what’s the most important thing they’re looking for their finance broker?’ I believe this gave me great leverage to gauge the kind of service they want to receive. Referral programs were also set up which are a win-win tactic between my business and my clients. Consequently, I have seen an increase in the amount of referral conversions for my business. I have also received improved customer engagement, higher conversions, lower churn rates, enhanced customer loyalty, and revenue increases.”

Black & White Finance – NSW
Peter Vassilis at Black & White Finance uses social media to engage customers with educational content and drive business to his website. This social media tactic has been so successful, they are currently averaging over 1,000 website visits a month, where prospects are invited to ‘start today’ by filling out a form to start a conversation.
“Through our website and a range of other digital channels, Black & White Finance curates and delivers ‘snack size’ communication that appeals to all generations of Australians. The monthly Black & White Finance updates for example, focus on the trending finance and property related topics of the time. The monthly update is published on the main Black & White Finance website, under blogs. This is advertised on the company’s Facebook and LinkedIn pages, and again on the company’s Instagram account, to let customers and followers know it’s available to read”.

Truevest Finance – SA
Connective Best Marketing Award Winners, Truevest in SA, have enjoyed great success by joining with their real-estate referral partner Rivergum Homes, to engage customers on social media. To expand their reach and stimulate engagement, they hosted a series of outdoor cinema sessions and used social media to advertise the events.
“Truevest Finance is all about getting personal. We believe that great advice doesn’t just come from knowing the best rates and products – it comes from great relationships. Truevest want to get to know their customers; their plans, their dreams and their aspirations. Even right down to how they like their coffee.”Jo Hughes, Truvest |
